Seamoss powder should be kept in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure that the packaging is sealed once you have opened it or transfer the sea moss powder to an airtight container and avoid exposing your sea moss to any sort of moisture.

Consume between 2-4 grams daily (half a teaspoon per serving) or as recommended by your primary healthcare practitioner.

1. How is this sea moss powder produced?

Our sea moss is produced in Tanzania from sun dried Eucheuma Spinosum / Glacilaria Seamoss.

2. What are some obvious signs that sea moss powder has gone bad?

Sea moss powder is generally shelf stable when stored the way we recommend, but if it does happen to spoil whilst in storage – it will have a strong “musty” smell. The sea moss powder should also be examined for signs of mould growth.

3. Is sea moss powder more concentrated than raw sea moss?
Yes, powdered sea moss is more nutrient dense because it is more processed, contains no moisture and because more raw sea moss is used to produce a single kilogram of sea moss powder.

4. Does sea moss powder also expand?
Yes, when sea moss powder comes into contact with water it expands, the powder rehydrates and absorbs water in a similar way to the raw sea moss and it will become thicker and take on a gel-like consistency.

5. How does one distinguish between 100% pure sea moss powder versus powder that contains fillers?
Pure sea moss powder is slightly slimy when it comes into contact with water, it has the same oceanic smell that raw sea moss has and it has a light brown colour. When fillers are used, they reduce the extent to which sea moss becomes slimy after contact with water and the colour will be a lot paler / white.
